A new game inspired by the 2011 sci-fi action film In Time, starring Justin Timberlake, will be launching on Fortnite this Thursday. This release is part of a deal between Snoop Dogg’s Death Row Games and New Regency, aimed at adapting New Regency’s film library into gaming titles for the popular platform.
The collaboration between Death Row Games’ Good Game Champ division will leverage the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) to develop the game, starting with In Time. This adaptation is described as an ideal fit for UEFN, promising fans a "AAA gaming experience" that blends immersive gameplay with the platform's capabilities.
Directed by Andrew Niccol, In Time also starred Amanda Seyfried, Cillian Murphy, and Olivia Wilde. Although the film holds a 36% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, its dystopian narrative remains compelling. Set in a world where time is used as currency, it explores deep social inequalities and the consequences of a society where survival depends on every passing second. Its themes of resistance offer plenty of room for rich storytelling in the gaming world.
Looking ahead, New Regency has a number of projects in development, including Blitz, streaming on Apple TV+, Season 2 of Mr. & Mrs. Smith with Donald Glover, the 2025 release of Prime Target starring Leo Woodall, and the upcoming Netflix film Man on Fire.
