The Arizona Cardinals made Kyler Murray one of the  Madden 24 coins highest paid quarterbacks in the Madden NFL 24 on Thursday, inking a new 5-year, $230M contract with $160 million guaranteed. You know what? He’s worth it. Murray inspires angst when it comes to Madden NFL 24 fans. There were a lot of angry responses regarding Murray when I named him one of the Top 5 quarterbacks in the league in my 2022 rankings. Those ratings took into account physical ability, intangibles, and the supporting cast around the passer to look at their potential for success in the upcoming season.

To this end, he passes every single test. The major criticism about Murray stems from the claim he “quit” on the team, because he didn’t want to continue a playoff game against the Rams with 1:05 left, down 34-11, in a game where he was pressured on 29.7 percent of his dropbacks. We often like to praise quarterbacks for their smarts, and that was a smart damn decision. It might not gel with overwrought gladiatorial football references about “self sacrifice,” but nothing Murray could have done would have turned that game around against the eventual Super Bowl champions, and getting hurt would have been disastrous.

However it looks like the death deck, as well as the whole stadium design might never come to pass. The Bears appear hell bent on joining the Cowboys, Commanders, Patriots and 49ers who left the city and moved out to the suburbs. The team has an investment in the Arlington Heights area, roughly 25 miles from downtown Chicago. When asked for comment on the Solider Field renovation plans by the Chicago Tribune, the Bears shot down any interest.

“The only potential project the Chicago Bears are exploring for a new stadium development is Arlington Park. As part of our mutual agreement with the seller of that property, we are not pursuing alternative stadium deals or sites, including renovations to Soldier Field, while we are under contract,” the Bears said. “We have informed the city of Chicago that we intend to honor our contractual commitments as we continue our due diligence and predevelopment activities on the Arlington Heights property.”

So we might never see the new-look Solider Field, or the glass death deck — but we’ll always have the memories. We’re starting to see player ratings roll out for Madden 23 with EA Sports releasing the full list of wide receivers and tight ends in this year’s game. While there are a lot that made sense based on recent production and promise in the 2022 Madden NFL 24 season, there are some that are making me irrationally angry. It’s time we look at  cheap mut 24 coins the Top 10 lists at both WR and TE this year, and then we’ll break down some players who were absolutely robbed.
